It’s one of the most important thing in the industry, that
big producers reduce there use of chemicals, water and the big part of energy.
The Co founder from KKR ( Kravis, Henry) said:
“… environmental performance and business performance can go hand-in-hand … ”
This green returns is a program from EDF (Environmental Defense Fund) and has started
in 2008 with KKR.
The pilot program started in 2008, focused on: Food service, Print media and Sealy and
the effect was amazing:
Reduce of: energy, waste and paper use adding up to 16 million USD.
But sure, all critical people say: that’s only a part of money reduce, saving money and its only a trick from the industries, that we believe they all are only interested in reduce the ecological damage.
Well, if its a part of the strategy – its ok.
The companies save money, the consumption of raw materials reduce, its saved the environment (lesser pollutant in the air) et cetera. So its a win win situation for all – not only for the industries.
